What It’s Like to Climb
By Maestrak on January 20, 2015

This is Dr. Masheter's second book on mountain climbing and another testament to perseverance. The first dealt with what it's like to climb Mt. Everest. This one details what it's like to trek through swampy jungles just to get to a mountain. With both, readers get to do both in the safety of their homes. Thanks, Carol, for saving lives (for armchair adventurers) and inspiring others to attempt the seemingly impossible!

Sensitive self effacing writing style. Riveting, difficult to stop reading story.

Good book

I've enjoyed both content and writing style of Carol's books. This one builds on her first summiting Everest book. Carol shares her adventures in a detailed and very personal way. It's refreshing to read about adventures written from Carol's unique perspective. The details comfortably transport even a non climbing reader into the world of rugged adventure. Anyone who has attempted a challenge and appreciated the journey will enjoy this book.

Adventure in the jungles of New Guinea.
By David J Mauro on October 31, 2014

Six Strangers from four countries set out in one of the most dangerous places on earth with the shared goal of summiting a little known climbers' trophy. Along the way they find a greatness that exceeds the sum of the parts. They change, are changed, and, against any reasonable odds, set a world record.

I was a member of this team, so I pretty much knew the story already, but Carol's story telling was so captivating that I couldn't put the book down. I have mad respect for this Lady as a climber and a writer.
